Limits
This is about an idea, which most of us experience and we want to explore it with you.
Limits
We all know how it is. We have a fear we can't overcome or are doing something, that is so exhausting we nearly break down. Limits follow us through our lives and stop us if it is too much.
Ethical Limits
Even in our lives in a society we are facing limits. In our freedom article we described limits like laws and rules, but they have a more profound reason behind it. It's morals and culture. We have moral limit, what we think is right and what we want to allow in our society. A big topic is death and the help given to allow someone to die. Euthanasia is in some countries allowed, but in many it is a gray area. The limit of the value of a life depends on the circumstances and the dignity a human should have. Also the flipside of the coin is a limit.
Psychological Limits
Are the relatives able to handle the death of a loved one? Some limits are internal and can even kill you. Those are the most well known. We all experienced a broken heart, some sort of bullying or some people even a trauma. It brings us to the end of what we are able to feel and forces us to seek help or step back to process what has happend.
Even work can take us to our limits. Constant stress can lead to burnout. Our mind is as important as our body, when it comes to our limits. Keep yourself well and seek help if you are going to your limits.
Physical Limits
A classical limit people face are extrem sports, where you push your body to the limit and sometimes beyond. But even simpler activities can let you reach your limits.
Another ethical limit is abortion, where physical and psychological limits also play a role. Abortion is about the right to decide over an unborn life and if it is already considered to be alive. Also about the life of the mother and how she came to motherhood. Is the child healthy? Was the child conceived through rape? But even physical limits are reached if the mother is to weak to carry out her child.
Conclusion
Limits are a way to tell ourselfs how far we want to go and when we reach them. Everyone has different limits and going beyond them can make us sick in many ways.
What limits did you reach? And how did you deal with it?
We are happy to hear from you.
